Q. What if my pet eats the DooKashi?
A. Don’t worry – it’s 100% natural and safe for pets (and humans) if ingested. Plus, it is Non-GMO Project Verified! In fact, we are one of very few pet products that is!
Q. Why is DooKashi different from other products on the market?
A. At DooKashi, we chose for our products to become Non-GMO Project Verified, because we respect pet owner’s right to feel confident in the safety of any product used around pets. DooKashi is made of 100% natural environmentally friendly ingredients combined with a OMRI listed probiotic. Unlike liquid odor eliminators that just add more moisture to an already wet area, DooKashi is a dry product with a whole-grain texture.
Read the labels of other products that claim they are environmentally friendly: often times there are strict “DO NOT TOUCH” warnings (often in tiny little print) as well – what’s “friendly” about that?
Q. How does DooKashi work on pet waste?
A. DooKashi works from a microbial level. The good microbes outperform the bad, rendering the pathogens inert. Once the pathogens are removed, the odor is gone. The key ingredient is a OMRI listed probiotic and is scientifically proven.
Q. How do I know the DooKashi is working?
A. The first and most obvious sign will be the absence and elimination of the odor. Additionally, when using on Chicken or Horse manure, you will notice the composting process taking less time - resulting into a very nutrient rich compost.
Q. Is it a bad sign to see white mold appearing?
A. White mold is a very good sign. It shows the microbes are very active interacting with each other. DooKashi with white mold is perfectly safe to use and will still be just as effective.
Q. Does DooKashi have a shelf life?
A. Yes - for maximum effectiveness, DooKashi should be used within two years of opening the package. However, It can be used after two years but may not be as effective. DooKashi will remain fresh if sealed after each use, and stored in a dry location out of direct sunlight.
Q. How much DooKashi is used for each application?
A. For any pet, the application size varies based on type of pet, size, how “smelly” their waste is, how many pets you are using it for, what they eat, how much pet waste they produce, age, etc. The larger the size and number of animals in a habitat, the more DooKashi is necessary. Application size can always be adjusted! Simply re-apply when your nose tells you to and odors will not accumulate!
Q. Is DooKashi the same no matter what type of pet waste you use it on?
A. Yes. DooKashi itself is the same. What differs is the application size and directions. DooKashi speeds up the composting process for chicken and horse manure only. Overall, it helps pets animals eyes and respiratory systems stay healthy by removing ammonia fumes.
Q. Why should I pick up dog waste?
A. Having a pet is a responsibility and like life "the good comes with the bad". When left alone, the waste can pollute the ground and find its way into the storm water which goes directly into our waterways. Because of the pathogens and other harmful components found in dog waste, the EPA has ranked pet waste as bad as toxic chemicals and oil. It takes several weeks for eggs to develop so in reality, fresh pet waste is not as infectious as pet waste left in your yard.
Not to mention dog waste attracts flies and pests, causes an unpleasant odor, and creates an unsanitary living condition for your much loved companion. Enough said….
Q. Are there other benefits that come from DooKashi besides odor control?
A. In the case of Chicken Coops, Small Animal Cages and Horse Stalls & Trailers; yes! DooKashi™ eliminates the strong ammonia odor of urine keeping their respiratory systems healthy and reduces fly attraction. Healthy chicks are better egg producers and a healthy horse is a happy horse (and owner!).Small animals are "low to the ground" so really do breathe in ammonia odor much faster than we humans. DooKashi speed up manure composting, a process which many backyard chicken farmers and horse owners practice.
Q. I only use biodegradable bags – isn’t that just as good for the environment?
A. Despite the fact the bags are biodegradable; they still take years to break down in the landfills. Saying something is biodegradable is really only a marketing term as everything breaks down at some point! A plastic bag with pet waste inside is buried deep in the landfill, getting little air to help the process and the break down takes even longer. Plus, raw waste in landfills create a huge health problem.
